Welcome
Welcome and thank you for visiting the JSOC Ireland online. We’re glad you’re here and hope that these pages will help answer any questions you have about the Jacobite Syrian Orthodox Church in Ireland. On these pages you will find a lot about who we are and what we do. We cordially invite you to visit one of our churches at your convenient location.
Faith & Traditions
The Jacobite Syrian Orthodox church Ireland accepts only three Ecumenical Synods namely Nicea (A.D.325), Constantinople (A.D. 381) and Ephesus (A. D. 431) as the universal Synods. The Church meticulously observe all faith declaration of the Nicean Creed. The church believes that Jesus Christ is one Person out of two natures namely human and divine. He is perfect man and perfect God.

Priests
Church priests play a central role in the spiritual life of their communities, guiding, supporting, and serving parishioners through life’s various stages. Entrusted with the responsibility of administering sacraments, priests lead worship services, conduct rites like baptisms, weddings, and funerals, and offer pastoral care to those in need. Their ministry often extends beyond the walls of the church, as they visit the sick, counsel those experiencing personal or spiritual struggles, and provide moral and ethical guidance. Rooted in a deep commitment to faith, priests strive to embody compassion, humility, and dedication, setting an example for others in their journey of faith. Through their teachings and presence, priests help to foster a sense of community, encouraging people to live in harmony, kindness, and reverence.
Organizations
Church organizations are structured groups within Christian communities that help manage, organize, and promote the faith, community support, and various outreach efforts. They vary widely in scope, purpose, and structure, often reflecting the beliefs and practices of different Christian denominations.
Churches
A church is more than just a building; it serves as a place of worship, community, and spiritual growth for its congregation. Rooted in history and tradition, churches often hold a sacred significance, providing a space where people come together to celebrate, pray, and seek solace. Many churches are architectural marvels, reflecting the devotion of past generations through their intricate designs, stained glass windows, and inspiring artworks. Beyond the walls of the structure, a church is a center of compassion and service, offering guidance, support, and a sense of belonging to individuals and families alike. Through worship services, community outreach, and fellowship activities, a church nurtures faith and fosters connections that last a lifetime.
Psalm 100:4
“Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise! Give thanks to him; bless his name!”
